Zwetschgenkuchen (Bavarian Plum Cake)
This recipe comes from my Bavarian grandmother, who was the ultimate baker. She used to make this traditional Bavarian dessert when I was a young girl. I love her flaky, buttery dough crust. The sweet and tart Italian Prune Plums are in season in August and September, so get this while it lasts! The top is sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and served with homemade whipped cream.
